Community

Faith Baptist Church is a community of loving, caring people who worship the Lord together, support each other, and desire to reach out to others so that they might also experience the true freedom that comes from faith in Jesus Christ.

What to Expect

There is something happening every day at Faith Baptist, but when you join us on Sunday you can expect a strong and challenging message coupled with biblical worship. When you arrive, you'll be welcomed into a friendly environment by people who are excited to see you. We look forward to meeting you!

Our History

Faith Baptist started in 1979 when a small group of families came together and planted a Bible preaching church. Since that time, Faith Baptist Church has grown into a family of believers that reaches across the state of Utah.

Our Mission

Our mission is to love God, grow together, and serve others.  As our church continues to follow the Lord and His Word, we hope to have a positive impact on our community.  Our desire is to spread the gospel all over our state, to see lives changed, and to grow closer to our Lord.

Senior Pastor
Chuck & Tammie Beickel

Pastor Chuck Beickel has been leading Faith Baptist Church since October 3, 1999. He grew up in the Imbler, Oregon area and attended the same school from elementary through high school. He came to know Christ at the age of 6 years old and was baptized shortly after. He gave his life to the Lord at a youth conference in Milton-Freewater, Oregon in the 9th grade, and later went on to attend Bible college. He spent one year at Pensacola Christian College before transferring to Trinity Baptist College. In 1989, he became the Pastor at Summerville Baptist Church in Summerville, Oregon. The Lord called him to Faith Baptist Church in Layton, Utah August of 1999.

In 2011, God brought him to Mrs. Tammie and they were married. Pastor gained two daughters in addition to his four grown sons. Mrs. Tammie grew up in the South, living in North Carolina, South Carolina, and West Virginia before moving to Utah with Pastor. As the daughter of a retired pastor, she is familiar with church ministry. She is passionate about the women's ministry here at Faith, and believes that staying connected to other Christian women is the key to growth in Christ, and is truly what the ministry is all about.

Pastor Beickel's goal for Faith Baptist Church is to reach Utah and the world with Christ, through community outreach, missions, and the media ministry. He has a heart for seniors and rehabilitation for both men and women. He is excited to see what the Lord will do in this area through Faith. His goal is to have strong discipleship, strong evangelism, and for each member of Faith Baptist to find their gifts and purpose, and to joyfully enter the ministry of Christ.

Pastor enjoys almost anything outdoors! Some of his favorite activities are handball, pickleball, cycling, hunting, and fishing! Pastor and Mrs. Tammie love to spend as much time as possible with their family.

Student Ministries: Youth and College & Career

Rod & Jeannie Hall

Pastor Rod Hall came to Utah at the age of 10 when his father was stationed at Hill Air Force Base, where his family began attending Faith Baptist Church shortly after. He met Mrs. Jeannie in jr. high school and they were married 7 years later.  Though he had come to know Christ at the young age of 5, on New Year's Eve of 1998, Pastor Hall fully surrendered his life to the Lord. Pastor Hall and Mrs. Jeannie knew right away that the Lord was leading them into His ministry.  They committed themselves to student ministries and have been serving for 26 years.

Pastor Hall and Mrs. Jeannie strive to create a place of refuge for young people where they know they can be themselves in an environment that ultimately points to the true Refuge, Jesus Christ. Their goal is to inspire young people to develop an authentic and dynamic love relationship with Christ.  They know that a close walk with God is the key to navigating this life.  God has given them a true passion for young people and they absolutely love what they do!  They desire others to know and experience the joy of serving the Lord.

Pastor Hall earned a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education and Pastoral Counseling with emphasis in temperament therapy, and is an invaluable resource for those in need.

Pastor Hall loves being around people, has a passion to serve the community through his various roles in education and military.  He enjoys eating good food, and weight training, and holds the state and national record for bench press!  He also enjoys fly fishing and spending time with his family.

 Children's Ministry

Rafael & Rocio Higuera

Pastor Rafael Higuera grew up in a small town in Mexico called Tamazula II, where his family served as missionaries. During his first summer back in the states, Rafael attended Silver State Baptist Youth Camp in Sedalia, Colorado. Through the preaching, God helped him realize that he had been relying on his parents' work for the Lord, rather than his own relationship with Jesus. Here, Rafael accepted Christ as his personal Savior.

After high school, he attended West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster, California.  He has been serving in Christian Ministry ever since.  He spent 11 months in Cojutepeque, El Salvador, as an interim pastor and school administrator.  He then went back to Lancaster, California, to be an intern in the Spanish Ministry.  While there, and in addition to Spanish outreach, he also led the children's ministry.  He has served as the Assistant Pastor at First Baptist Church of Long Beach, CA, and Pastor at Calvary Baptist in Silver City, NM.

While Rafael was interning at Lancaster Baptist Church, he met his wife, Mrs. Roció, who was serving as the secretary.  Mrs. Roció grew up in El Paso, Texas, where she received Christ as Savior at 8 years old, at Vacation Bible School.  At 19, she was baptized, surrendered her life to the Lord, and began attending West Coast Baptist College.  In their free time they both enjoy spending time with their family, whether inside or outside.

Pastor Rafael believes that children have so much potential for the Lord.  They are not only important to God, but they matter to the church as well.  He wants to create a safe environment, where kids learn to love the Lord, have a relationship with Him, and desire to serve Him NOW.  He also wants to inspire and train volunteers to love serving in the children's ministry, and help them to make a lasting impact in the lives of children.  Rafael's goal if fourfold: reaching children with the Gospel, rescuing children from the world, rooting children in God's Word, and releasing children to be difference makers.  He truly loves the ministry and being able to bring to people the Hope and help through Jesus Christ.

Serving God with his life and family is the best, and definitely an adventure worth going on.

Treasurer & Business Manager

David Snyder

We gratefully acknowledge those who came before us—faithful men and women who followed God’s lead with great sacrifice, laying the foundation we now build upon. Our story began on November 8, 1979, when David, one of fourteen families at Hill Air Force Base saw the need for a Bible-preaching church. The first meetings were held in a trailer park, with a shoebox sign held down by a brick on a car.  David has since served as the Treasurer and Financial Manager at Fath Baptist Church.

Church & Finance Secretary
Jeannie Hall

In addition to being involved with student ministries, Jeannie became the church secretary in 2000, serving in this ministry for 7 years.  In 2007, with small children, she felt the need to shift her focus to raising her kids.  In 2019, God allowed her to re-enter this ministry.  She has the highest regard for the great responsibility she's been given in the connection of what goes on behind the scenes.  God has given her a gift for organization and administration.  She loves coordinating, serving people, and connecting them through information.

Jeannie loves spending time with her husband and kids, and serving the Lord through the ministries He has given her.  She enjoys crafting, camping, hiking, and spending time in the mountains!

Media Manager

Dennis Stoner

Dennis has been leading the media ministry for several years at Faith Baptist Church.  Keeping the media running smoothly in the church, on television, and across social media platforms is a vital part of our mission to reach our city, state, and world. He loves to hear when someone has come to Christ as a direct result of this ministry.  He also has a passion for sharing truth with young people and is faithfully involved in the youth ministry at Faith.

Dennis loves spending his free time with his grandkids, and when he is not spending time with his family, he may be found on the golf course.

Custodian

David Daniels

David graduated with an Associates of Church Ministry from Golden State Baptist Church at Santa Clara, California. He has been serving in leading the custodial ministry at Faith Baptist Church. David is committed to maintaining the church and school facility, understanding that this is an often overlooked, but vitally important aspect of the worship experience for all who attend and visit.

He enjoys spending time with family and enjoys wood working in his free time.
